01What we do

Six ways we help, depending on where you're starting from.

Some people come to us with a business name and not much else. Others have a site that's ten years old, slow, and quietly costing them work. Most are somewhere in between. Here's how we usually help.

01 / 06

Web design that follows the way your customers decide

Good web design isn't decoration. It's deciding what someone needs to see first, what they need to believe before they'll call you, and clearing away everything that gets in the way. We plan the structure, help shape the words, then design pages that look sharp on a phone and a widescreen monitor alike.

  • Page structure and customer journeys planned before any design
  • Mobile-first layouts, tested on real devices
  • Accessible colour, type and spacing

Website development that's quick, secure and easy to look after

A lovely design only goes so far if the build is slow or fragile. We write clean code, keep plugins to a sensible minimum and test across browsers and devices, so the finished site loads quickly and doesn't fall over the first time someone edits a page.

  • Hand-coded front ends and custom WordPress themes
  • Speed, accessibility and security checks before launch

Ecommerce web design that makes buying feel easy

Whether you sell a handful of products or a few thousand, we design shops that help people find what they're after, trust you with their card details and get through checkout without second thoughts. WooCommerce and Shopify both have their place, and we'll tell you honestly which suits you.

WordPress websites you can actually update yourself

WordPress powers a huge share of the web for good reason, but a badly built one soon becomes a headache. We build custom WordPress themes with tidy, clearly labelled editing screens, so changing a price, adding a team member or posting some news doesn't mean waiting for a developer.

  • Custom themes, not bloated page builders
  • Editing screens set up around your content
  • Training and a short guide when you launch

Bespoke web design for brands that don't fit a template

If your business has a distinct look, a complicated offer or customers who expect something a cut above, an off-the-shelf theme won't do it justice. Bespoke projects start with a blank page, a proper discovery session and a design system made for you alone.

Website redesigns that keep what works and fix what doesn't

A redesign shouldn't mean starting from zero and losing the search rankings you've built up over the years. We audit what you have, keep the pages and content that earn their place, set up redirects properly and rebuild the rest so the site reflects the business you are today.

02Why work with us

A small team, a clear process and no smoke and mirrors.

Choosing a web designer is mostly about trust. So here's what you can expect from us, written plainly enough that you can hold us to it.

Most of our projects start with a pencil and a conversation, not a template.

  1. You'll speak to the people doing the work

No account managers passing messages back and forth. The people designing and building your site are the ones on your calls and replying to your emails.

  2. Quotes written in plain English

You'll get a written proposal that says what's included, what isn't, and what happens if the scope changes along the way. No vague line items and no surprise invoices.

  3. Designed for your customers, not for awards

We'd rather build something that brings you steady enquiries than something that only impresses other designers. Every decision is checked against one question: does this help a visitor take the next step?

  4. Remote by design, never distant

We're based in Wallington and work with Newport businesses over video calls, shared design links and regular written updates. You'll always know what's happening and what we need from you next.

  5. Yours to keep

Once your project is paid for, the website, the content and the domain belong to you. We hand over logins and a short guide, and we never hold a site hostage.

  6. Still here after launch

Questions come up once real customers start using a website. We're on hand for small changes, updates and advice, so you're not left on your own once it's live.

03How it works

From first chat to launch day, and after.

Every project is different, but the shape of the work stays the same. You'll know what's happening at each stage, what you'll get from it and what we need from you.

  1. A proper conversation

We start with a call to understand your business, your customers and what the website needs to do. You'll get honest advice, even if it turns out we're not the right fit.

You get: a clear brief and a written quote
  2. Plan and structure

We map out the pages, the route through them and the content each one needs. This is where most of the thinking happens, and where cheap websites tend to cut corners.

You get: a sitemap and wireframes
  3. Design

We design the key pages for desktop and mobile and share them as a clickable prototype. You give feedback, we refine, and nothing gets built until you're happy with it.

    You get: an interactive prototype
  4. Build

We develop the site on a private staging link, so you can watch it come together, add your content and try it on your own phone and laptop.

You get: a working staging site
  5. Test and launch

Browser and device checks, speed and accessibility testing, redirects, analytics and Search Console set-up. Then we go live together and keep a close eye on things.

You get: a launch checklist, signed off
  6. Aftercare

We're around for updates, improvements and the questions that only come up once people start using the site. Small tweaks are quick. Bigger ideas get planned properly.

You get: ongoing support when you need it

The best websites aren't the ones with the most features. They're the ones where every page has a job and does it well.

That's the thinking behind everything we plan, design and build.

04Selected concepts

A look at how we think, sector by sector.

Different businesses need very different websites. These studio concepts show the range of approaches we take, from quiet and minimal to bold and sales-led.

The brands shown here are fictional studio concepts. For real websites we've built for clients, see our portfolio.

05Under the bonnet

What goes into every site we build.

Most of this you'll never see. It's the groundwork that keeps a website fast, findable, safe and easy to live with long after launch day.

Design

  • Responsive layouts designed for phones first, then tablets and desktops
  • Accessible colour and type, checked against WCAG 2.2 contrast guidance
  • Clickable prototypes so you can try pages before they're built
  • Brand-aligned details, from icons to image treatment

Build

  • Clean, semantic HTML with a light touch on scripts
  • Optimised images in WebP, responsively sized and lazy-loaded
  • Core Web Vitals measured and improved before launch
  • Cross-browser testing on current Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge

Search

  • Sensible URLs and headings that search engines can follow
  • Page titles and descriptions written for people, not robots
  • Schema markup and an XML sitemap
  • Google Search Console set up and checked after launch

Enquiries

  • Contact forms with spam protection and server-side checks
  • Click-to-call and clear calls to action on every page
  • Analytics set up with proper cookie consent where needed
  • Integrations with booking tools, CRMs and newsletters

Care

  • SSL certificates and secure, up-to-date software
  • Backups so there's always a way back
  • Hosting advice matched to your traffic and budget
  • Training so you're confident making changes

06Questions

Things people usually ask us.

Can't see your question?

We're happy to talk things through before you commit to anything.

Read all our FAQs

How much does a website cost?

It depends on how many pages you need, how much is designed from scratch and whether you need things like online payments, bookings or integrations with other systems. Rather than quote a number that might not apply to you, we'll ask a few questions and send a clear written quote that sets out exactly what's included.

How long does a new website take?

Smaller brochure sites can be ready in a matter of weeks. Larger sites and online shops take longer. In our experience the biggest factor is how quickly content and feedback come together, so we'll agree a realistic timeline with you before anything starts.

Do you only work with businesses in Newport?

Not at all. We work with businesses in Newport and right across the UK. We're based in Wallington and run our projects remotely, using video calls, shared design links and regular written updates, so your location makes very little difference to how things go.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Yes. Most of the sites we build use WordPress or a simple content editor, and we'll show you how to make everyday changes like editing text, swapping images or adding news posts. If you'd rather not, we can look after updates for you.

Can you redesign my site without losing my Google rankings?

That's always the aim. We audit your current pages, keep URLs where it makes sense, set up redirects for anything that moves and check everything in Google Search Console after launch. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, but a careful migration protects the ground you've already gained.

Do you write the website content?

We can. Some clients send finished copy, others want us to write it from scratch or tidy up their notes so they read well. We'll talk about it at the start so it's part of the plan and the quote, rather than a surprise later.
